Call for tender - Data archival and documentation

We are seeking a contractor able to assist with the data archival and documentation for the forthcoming IPCC WGI report. This work will form an important contribution to the FAIR data initiative for the report, led by the WGI Technical Support Unit (TSU), which adopts best practice in data archival as established by the international FAIR framework (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

Tenders should be submitted by 25 April 2021.

Congratulations to Svitlana Krakovska!

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Ukrainian Antarctic Station "Vernadsky Research Base", the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to leading Ukrainian polar explorers for their contribution to scientific activities in Antarctica.

Svitlana Krakovska (LA, Atlas Chapter) is one of the first Ukrainian women to head to Antarctica in the late 1990s to study it.

IPCC extends Working Group I literature cut-off date, postpones final lead author meeting

GENEVA, May 29 – The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has extended the cut-off date for scientific literature to be included in the contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of Working Group I, which deals with the physical science basis of climate change, by four months from 30 September 2020 in the original Working Group I schedule to 31 January 2021.
